The Benefits Of Regular Exercise For Daily Living.

As we get older, we tend to slow down a little because we are not as quick and agile as we used to be. Some of us however are slowing down far too much and we are leading a very sedentary lifestyle. Over the past two years we have also had to deal with the current pandemic that we find ourselves still in and so many of us have not been exercising and we have not been taking care of our bodies. As a direct result, we are completely out of shape and we have lost the strength in our muscles and our bones. It’s time that you got yourself out of this negative cycle and one way to do that is to start doing at least 30 minutes of exercise for at least five days a week. These are the guidelines set out by the World Health Organisation and so it is very sound advice indeed.

If you don’t start taking care of yourself then you might start to suffer from health issues that involve you having to go see a doctor of orthopedics because you have torn a muscle or you have fractured a bone. Rather than just sitting around waiting for an accident to happen, it’s time that you got yourself into some kind of fitness plan that will guide you on the road to better health. If you still have to be convinced about the benefits of exercise and particularly jogging, then here are some of the benefits of doing so.

It helps you to lose weight – It’s likely that you have piled on a few kilograms in the past two years and if you continue down this road then you’re going to be classed as obese and you’re going to run into many health problems. Pulling on your running shoes and you’re running gear and setting out for a slow jog five days a week will help you to burn this access weight. Don’t try to start off to strong and just take your time until your body is comfortable with running again. Maybe you could start off with some brisk walking and then work your way up.

You live longer – This should be incentive enough for everyone and it should help to encourage you to improve your health both physically and mentally. As we grow older it becomes even more important that we incorporate resistance training into our daily exercise routine. Your body will naturally try to store more fat as you grow older and so you really have to work hard to keep it all off. The wonderful thing is that by doing regular exercise you will help to stave off health issues like cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

As you can see, getting yourself back into shape and getting yourself out of that armchair will be excellent for both your physical and mental health. It’s all about motivating yourself and getting started, so make an effort today to change your life for the better.
